In "Recommended Reading," a slightly fracture translation of the CCP's statement from their meeting on opening up from "Zero-Covid" restrictions without opening up. "Beijing is sticking with its grand strategies on COVID; it is not 'relaxing' COVID controls or 'opening up.' It is merely making 'optimizations." Oh, and the most important thing. "Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech."

In "Recommended Reading," we discover a new principle of American politics. In the wake of the mid-terms, Trump viciously (and falsely) attacked DeSantis on his performance as governor during Covid. Suddenly, the media loves DeSantis and his anti-lockdown approach. All it took for the mainstream to embrace DeSantis was for Trump to turn against him. Amazing.
