70.2% of US adults are now immune through vaccinations or previous exposure, but there is skepticism about whether this constitutes herd immunity. Media skepticism conflates it with eradication. Herd immunity means the virus is only spreading linearly, not exponentially. That is the case , and generally always has been, on a global basis. Not only has the world achieved herd immunity, it has pretty much been there all along.
