The evidence is accumulating: opening up the economy won't open the door to a resurgence of the virus.
Update to Strategic View
Since the US economy has begun coming out of lockdown, a month of case and fatality data across the fifty states shows no correlation with degree and timing of opening up. This gives no reason to assume that opening the economy will lead to a resurgence in infections causing lockdowns to be reimposed. This clears the path to a V-shaped economic recovery as political leaders have to accelerate opening up in the absence of any reason not to.
